Publishing Schedule Features Second Release from Pioneering LGBTQ Imprint RainbowKidz
Emmy Award-winning Don Hoffman, a veteran children’s author whose 28 books have sold more than two million copies, is proud to announce the Spring 2017 Publishing Plan for Peek-A-Boo Publishing Group (PABPG) in association with digital media partner Brightline Interactive and Chicago’s Independent Publisher’s Group (IPG), the original and second largest independent book distributor in the United States.
Beginning with The Lonely Boats in April 2017, the coming year will see the publication of three of Peek-A-Boo’s groundbreaking children’s titles through IPG’s extensive network—in hardcover, paperback, and e-book formats.
For 65 years, Sparky the Fire Dog has educated both adults and children alike on life-saving and important fire safety tips. Now Peek-A-Boo has partnered with the National Association of Fire Protection (NFPA) on two charming stories which highlight Sparky as a puppy to adulthood and introduces readers to his 12 brothers and sisters.
“ I am honored this year that Peek-A-Boo will introduce readers to one of the most famous fire dogs in the world”, said Don Hoffman, founder and managing partner of PABPG.
From Sparky the Fire Dog, to two brave boats, Kitty and Lou, children will smile in delight when they visit Hattie’s Harbor, and meet two heroines (boats) who save their neighbors in their hometown village.
“Ultimately, Kitty and Lou live out their lives together as devoted partners. I can’t imagine a more beautiful or important message to share with readers”, concluded Hoffman.
Peek-A-Boo is an exciting new approach to children’s publishing, focused on producing works that tell enduring tales and celebrate diversity. Among its imprints are Peek-A-Boo, for children 0–4, See-Saw Publishing, for young readers 4–8, and Rainbowkidz, a revolutionary imprint dedicated to telling loving and affirming stories that highlight gay and lesbian families.
